March–May: mild temperatures, blooming parks, outdoor cafés reopening and longer daylight. Great for sightseeing without the full summer crush.
National day on July 14 with military parade, fireworks, and celebrations across the city.
Biannual major fashion industry events (late Feb/early Mar and late Sep/early Oct) that draw international visitors and increase demand for accommodation.
Grand Slam tennis tournament held in late May to early June, attracting global visitors and boosting hotel demand.
June 21 celebration of music across Paris with free concerts in streets, bars, and parks.
All-night arts festival in early October with installations and performances across the city.
Late November–December: seasonal markets, ice rinks, and illuminations on grands boulevards and department store displays.
Paris has a temperate climate: mild springs, warm summers with occasional heatwaves, cool to chilly falls, and cold winters with some rain. Pack layered clothing, a compact umbrella, comfortable walking shoes, and a light insulated jacket for winter. Check weather a few days before travel and prepare for rain in shoulder seasons.
Paris hotel prices fluctuate with tourist seasons and major events. Peak rates occur in Summer (June–August), during Paris Fashion Week (late Feb/early Mar and late Sep/early Oct), and around Christmas/New Year. Business events and trade shows (e.g., Paris Air Show, major congresses) also spike prices in affected neighborhoods. Value-season windows are late autumn and winter (November–early March) excluding holiday weeks, when hotels and some attractions discount rates. Booking 2–3 months ahead for summer and popular event dates is recommended; for last-minute deals, search in the value season or use flexible booking dates.

Paris has an extensive public transit system (metro, RER, buses, trams) plus taxis and rideshares; central areas are highly walkable.
Book key museum tickets (Louvre, Orsay, Sainte-Chapelle) and Eiffel Tower time slots in advance to skip long lines. Stay in a central arrondissement (1–7, 4, 5, 6) for first-time visitors to minimize transit time to main sights, or choose charming neighborhoods like Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or Canal Saint-Martin for a more local feel.
