Location and customer service
Had a fantastic time in the city and at the “Me and All” hotel. Location is right in the middle of the Little Tokyo ( surrounded by various dangerously tempting food places) Rooms are spotless. Staff is beyond helpful. Checking in took 1,5 minutes- bravo 👍🏻!) Special thanks to the excellent Sara and Mahmoud. They really made my stay at the hotel smooth and stressless. Even though I was changing my plans and extending 2 times, I topped it off with a late check-out. All my requests were looked into and granted immediately. 👌🙏🙏 Sadly, I had no opportunity to check out the rooftop restaurant, but there will be more reason to come back here. Wholeheartedly, I highly recommend this place.

Fall
Summer months and major trade fair weeks (hotel and transport prices peak).
Winter (outside Christmas markets and major fairs) and mid-week stays are typically the best value times.
March–May: Temperatures warm up, parks and riverside promenades green up, and many outdoor events resume. Ideal for strolling the Altstadt and MedienHafen as terraces reopen.
A major regional celebration with parades, costume parties, and street festivities, peaking in February or early March.
One of the world's largest boat shows held at Messe Düsseldorf in January; a significant draw for both professionals and leisure visitors.
International wine trade fair (typically in March) attracting exhibitors and buyers from around the globe; affects hotel availability.
Celebrates Düsseldorf's large Japanese community with cultural performances, food, and fireworks along the Rhine, typically in May.
Multiple markets across the city in December offering crafts, seasonal food, and mulled wine in a festive atmosphere.
City and regional river celebrations include fireworks and riverside gatherings, often drawing big crowds on summer or early-fall weekends.
Düsseldorf has a temperate maritime climate: mild winters, warm summers, and frequent light rain year-round. Pack layered clothing, a compact umbrella, comfortable walking shoes, and a light waterproof jacket for spring and fall. For summer, include sun protection; for winter, bring a warm coat and hat for damp cold.
Düsseldorf's hotel and accommodation prices swing with seasonality and the Messe Düsseldorf trade fair calendar. Expect spikes during major trade fairs (ProWein, Boot Düsseldorf, drupa when it runs, and other large industry shows) and during Carnival and the Christmas market period. Summer weekends can be pricier due to leisure travelers and events along the Rhine. Outside of fair weeks and holiday windows, mid-week stays (Mon–Thu) and late winter (excluding big fair weeks) offer the best value. Booking well in advance for fair weeks or using neighboring cities (e.g., Duisburg, Neuss) can save money.

Düsseldorf has efficient public transit (Rheinbahn trams, U-Bahn, S-Bahn) and a compact city center suited to walking. Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) connects well internationally; main train station (Hauptbahnhof) links to Köln and wider Germany.
