The location and views were perfect. Room wa spacios and staff so cheerful and lovely. The Privilege packet was a spot on with self service lounge and sunbathing area. We liked that Playa de Curo was not crowded but still you had all you needed. Amadores beach was just a 20min beautiful walk away. But there is also a nice beach just one minute outside the hotel.
Can find very little fault with this hotel we hired a car so we’re able to travel around , but all facilities were excellent. the only criticism is the quality of the food on certain days wasn’t brilliant if you’re half board or fully inclusive

Seasonal guide to help you plan the perfect trip to in Playa del Cura
Summer
July–August; late December–early January (Christmas/New Year); Carnival and Semana Santa weeks
Late spring (May–June) and early fall (September–October) except during school holidays
March–May: Temperatures generally range from the high teens to mid-20s °C (mid-60s to mid-70s °F). Sea temperatures begin to warm and daylight increases—ideal for beach time as well as hiking the nearby trails and exploring local villages.
Main carnival season runs February–March depending on year. While the largest parades are in Las Palmas and other big towns, small local events and parties happen across Gran Canaria including neighboring towns to Playa del Cura.
Around July 16: a traditional maritime festival celebrated in many Canary Island fishing towns; Puerto de Mogán and nearby coastal villages hold processions honoring the patron saint of fishermen.
Date varies (March–April): Religious processions and community events take place across the islands; while smaller in Playa del Cura, nearby towns have more elaborate observances.
Year-round but busier in high season: Nearby Puerto de Mogán, Arguineguín and other coastal towns run weekly markets selling fresh produce, crafts, souvenirs and tapas. Schedules vary seasonally—check local listings.
June 23–24: Island-wide midsummer beach celebrations with bonfires, music and late-night gatherings on beaches—larger towns host organized events and private celebrations happen on smaller shores too.
Playa del Cura enjoys a mild subtropical climate with limited rainfall. Expect sunny days most of the year, but watch for Calima (Saharan dust) events that bring haze and higher temperatures—these can occur mainly in late winter and spring. UV levels are high year-round: bring sunscreen, hat and sunglasses. Evenings can be breezy—pack a light jacket. Check local sea and flag conditions before swimming; if winds are strong, some small beaches can have choppier water.
Playa del Cura is a small, popular beach area in the Mogán municipality of Gran Canaria. Hotel and apartment prices follow Canary Islands patterns: peak pricing during summer (July–August) and the Christmas/New Year period (late December–early January). Carnival season (February–March) and Semana Santa (Easter) can push prices up in nearby larger towns (Las Palmas, Puerto de Mogán) and reduce availability. Because Playa del Cura itself has limited hotel inventory and many visitors use nearby Puerto de Mogán or Arguineguín as bases, prices can spike quickly for last-minute bookings. Value periods tend to be the shoulder seasons (late spring and early fall) when weather is excellent but demand is lower. Local festivals and school holiday weeks can create short high-price windows; book early for holiday weeks and consider nearby towns for better availability and rates.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Best reached via Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) followed by car, bus or taxi to the Mogán area. A rental car gives the greatest flexibility; reliable public buses connect major towns.
Use Playa del Cura as a relaxed base for day trips—combine beach time with excursions to Puerto de Mogán, the Maspalomas dunes, and inland sites like Arguineguín and Roque Nublo; book ferries and big-city carnival tickets well in advance, and consider renting a car for the most flexible schedule.
