The location, staff, breakfast..everything!
The whole experience was amazing. The apartment clean and well presented and very well stocked kitchen equipment wise. Pools and beach amazing and we spent a lot of time there. Food at Vista always great and well priced too! I loved their environmental focus it was so nice to see. Also the breakfast at Locus was like nothing I've seen!! There were so many stations offering different food and drink options! Even a wonderful herbal drink station with yummy fresh brews made by the lovely young lady there! We loved our time, special thanks to the staff at front desk, housekeeping, and Fendy for driving us to and from the ferry, we will be back for sure!! X

Seasonal guide to help you plan the perfect trip to in Lagoi
Summer
June–August and major holiday weeks (Christmas/New Year, Chinese New Year)
March–May and September–November (shoulder months)
March–May: Transition from the wetter months into the drier season. Rainfall decreases, temperatures remain warm (mid-20s to low-30s °C), and humidity starts to ease slightly.
Major cultural celebrations across Bintan and in Lagoi’s hotels and restaurants; dates vary each year (generally January–February).
An annual-style festival often scheduled in the drier months (commonly around June–July). Dates vary by year and organizer—check the current year’s calendar.
Religious observances occur based on the Islamic lunar calendar; Ramadan and Eid fall on different Gregorian months each year (often around April–June depending on the year). Local markets and special menus appear during and after Ramadan.
Bintan occasionally hosts endurance and open-water events; many are scheduled in the drier months for safer conditions (typically between May and October). Check the event calendar for precise dates.
Lagoi has a tropical climate: expect daytime temperatures around 25–32°C (77–90°F), high humidity year-round, and sudden heavy tropical showers in the wet season. Pack light breathable clothing, a compact rain jacket, reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brim hat, sunglasses and insect repellent. If you plan snorkeling/diving, bring reef-safe sunscreen and a light rashguard; consider a waterproof bag for electronics when taking boats.
Lagoi (Bintan) hotel and resort prices follow clear seasonal patterns tied to weather, school holidays in Singapore/Malaysia, and major holidays. The peak rates appear in the drier months (June–August) and during international and regional holiday windows (Christmas/New Year weeks and Chinese New Year). Resorts in Lagoi bundle transfers, meals and activities; these packages command higher rates and sell out fast in high season. Ferry schedules and limited arrival points concentrate arrivals into discrete windows—when many travelers arrive the same days, local ground-transport and resort transfer prices can spike. Shoulder months (March–May and September–November) usually offer the best value: lower room rates, promotional packages, and more flexible ferry-schedule availability. The wettest months (December–February) can show lower base rates but individual dates around holiday periods (e.g., Christmas, New Year) still push prices up. Local festivals or sports events (marathons, triathlons, cultural festivals) will temporarily raise prices for nearby properties and reduce availability, particularly for family-friendly resorts with limited room inventory.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Arrival is most commonly by ferry from Singapore (Tanah Merah) to the northern Bintan terminal that serves Lagoi; alternately fly into Tanjung Pinang (Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport) and transfer by road. Local transfers in Lagoi are mainly hotel shuttles, taxis and motorbike rentals.
If arriving from Singapore, coordinate ferry schedules tightly: many hotels offer combined ferry + transfer packages that simplify arrival logistics. For the best value, book stays in the shoulder months (March–May, September–November) and watch for mid-week rates; if you need guaranteed calm seas for diving/snorkeling, prioritize June–August and pre-book boat operators and dive shops.
