Fall
Spring (Passover, Easter) and early Fall (High Holidays, Sukkot)
Winter and late Summer (outside holiday weeks)
March–May: Generally mild, comfortable days and cooler evenings. Many flowers bloom and the city is lively with festivals and pilgrimages.
One of the largest Jewish festivals; many families travel to Jerusalem and hotels fill early.
Major influx of Christian pilgrims for Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter services, centered on the Old City and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
A springtime festival transforming the Old City with night-time art and light installations.
Celebrates the reunification of Jerusalem; events include parades and ceremonies.
Early fall period when prayer gatherings and family visits drive travel and change city rhythms.
While Ramadan is observed mainly in Muslim neighborhoods and East Jerusalem, the month affects market hours and neighborhood atmosphere.
An international running event attracting runners worldwide, often in the spring.
Jerusalem’s climate is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and cool, rainy winters. Pack light layers year-round: a warm layer and rain jacket for Winter, sun protection and breathable fabrics for Summer, and a versatile jacket for Spring and Fall. Comfortable walking shoes are essential — many streets are cobbled and uphill. Watch the UV index in summer and stay hydrated; in winter, be prepared for rain and occasional chilly nights.
Hotel and flight prices in Jerusalem fluctuate sharply around major religious and cultural dates. Peak demand and higher rates occur during Jewish festivals (especially Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot), Christian Holy Week/Easter, and when international conferences or festivals (e.g., Jerusalem Film Festival) run. Spring (March–May) around Passover and Easter is the strongest high season; early fall (September–October) around the Jewish High Holidays and Sukkot also drives up prices. Summer sees steady tourist numbers (families, domestic travel) and festival-related price bumps; however extreme heat can deter some travelers. The lowest rates are typically in Winter (December–February) outside the Christmas/New Year and Hanukkah periods, and in late summer (August) for certain midweek dates. Book well in advance for Jewish and Christian holidays; last-minute deals appear in off-peak weeks, but availability near holy sites can be limited. Short-term rental platforms also surge during festival dates, raising apartment and private lodging prices.
内行人建议,帮助您充分利用您的访问
Getting around involves walking (Old City), public transit (light rail, buses), taxis/sheruts, and organized tours. Expect some walking on uneven surfaces and security checkpoints.
Plan your itinerary around Shabbat and major religious holidays to avoid closures and transport gaps. Book accommodations well in advance for Passover, Easter, and the Jewish High Holidays. For quieter visits, target Winter (outside holiday weeks) or late Summer weekdays; for the best weather and cultural activity, aim for Spring and Fall.
