Nice
Room was spacious and clean. AC worked very well. Breakfast had several options, and the restaurants had good options for other meals too. Staff was nice and helpful at all times. I haven't used the other facilities such as gym but I believe there are quite a few things to do on the top floors, including a rooftop bar, which I did go to! :)

Winter
Late September through January (Navratri, Diwali, school holidays, New Year) — expect higher hotel rates and busier streets.
Monsoon months (July–September) and weekdays outside festival periods — lower accommodation prices and fewer crowds but wet conditions.
February–March: generally pleasant, mild temperatures and lower humidity; good for outdoor walks around Upvan Lake, Yeoor Hills and markets.
A major festival across Maharashtra; in Thane it means large community pandals, public processions and visarjan (idol immersion) at local lakes and beaches.
Nine nights of garba and traditional worship, followed by Dussehra celebrations. Organized garba events and cultural programs are common in residential complexes and community halls.
Major Hindu festival celebrated with lights, fireworks, sweets and markets. Thane’s residential neighborhoods and bazaars are lively with decorations and shopping.
While not a single event, the monsoon transforms Thane’s nearby hills and waterfalls; local trekking groups organize guided hikes to Yeoor Hills, Tungareshwar and nearby waterfalls during/after rains (with caution).
Thane municipal and civic groups periodically organize cultural fairs, concerts and public events—dates and scale vary year to year but often coincide with festival seasons or civic celebrations.
Expect hot humid summers, heavy monsoon rains (July–September) with possible localized flooding, and pleasant, dry winters. Carry a lightweight rain jacket or umbrella during monsoon; breathable clothing, sunscreen and a hat for summer; a light sweater for cooler winter evenings. Anticipate travel slowdowns during heavy rain and plan extra time for commutes.
Thane is primarily a regional and commuter destination (close to Mumbai) so pricing is driven by local demand spikes more than international tourism. Hotel rates rise on weekends, during local festivals (Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Diwali) and during December–January (holiday/New Year period). Weekdays and monsoon months generally offer better value; however, monsoon travel can bring logistical issues (flooding, slower transportation) that affect availability and extra costs. Areas near major attractions and transit hubs (Thane West, near Upvan Lake and the railway station) command higher rates. Booking 2–4 weeks ahead for regular travel is usually fine; for festival dates or long weekends book 4–8+ weeks in advance. Short stays and last-minute weekend trips may face premium pricing.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Thane is a major commuter hub with excellent rail and road connections to Mumbai and neighboring districts. Local transport includes suburban trains, buses, auto-rickshaws and app-based taxis.
Plan around festival dates if you want to experience local culture—book accommodation 4–8 weeks ahead. For efficient local travel, use suburban trains for long hops and app taxis for last-mile travel; carry a compact umbrella and waterproof bag during monsoon, and start outdoor activities early in the day during summer to avoid peak heat.
