Guide saisonnier pour vous aider à planifier le voyage parfait à in Aqaba
Winter
December–February and March–May (holiday periods and optimal mild weather).
June–August (hotter temperatures, lower hotel rates, fewer tourists).
March–May: Temperatures warm from the low 20s°C (high 60s–low 70s°F) into the high 20s°C (low 80s°F). Sea temps are pleasant and visibility for diving is excellent, with comfortable daytime conditions for sightseeing.
Major Islamic holidays observed across Jordan. Dates change each year according to the lunar calendar.
May 25: National holiday celebrated across the country, including Aqaba.
Aqaba hosts periodic diving-related events, clean-ups and smaller music or cultural festivals, often timed to peak diving windows in spring and fall.
Bring lightweight, breathable clothing for day use and a light jacket for evenings in winter and spring. Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) is essential year-round. In summer, schedule strenuous outdoor activities for early morning or late afternoon and stay hydrated. If diving, pack a thin rashguard for sun protection and check wetsuit thickness recommendations for winter/early spring when water can be cooler.
Aqaba's hotel and travel prices fluctuate with international holiday patterns, diving season and local events. The busiest, highest-price periods align with mild-weather months and winter holidays (late December–February and parts of Spring), when international travelers seek warm-weather escapes and optimal diving conditions. Peak hotel rates often occur around Christmas/New Year and local holidays. Value-season rates are typically in the hottest months (June–August) when daytime temperatures are highest; some mid-range and budget properties drop prices, though luxury resorts may keep high rates year-round. Weekends (Thursday–Friday in Jordan) and special events can push short-term price spikes. Booking 60–90 days ahead for high season and 2–4 weeks ahead in shoulder seasons usually secures the best rates. Dive operators often offer package discounts in shoulder months, while Ramadan and major local holidays can change meal service hours and affect availability.
Conseils d'initiés pour vous aider à tirer le meilleur parti de votre visite
Aqaba is served by King Hussein International Airport (AQJ) with regional and seasonal international flights; it's also easily reached by road from Amman (approx. 4–5 hours). Local transport includes taxis, ride-hailing apps and rental cars; ferries connect to nearby ports for specific itineraries.
Book dive trips and popular day tours at least 2–4 weeks in advance during peak season; consider staying at a beachfront resort for easy early-morning dives and quick access to the marine park. For a quieter stay, choose accommodation on the city's quieter eastern shore rather than the main marina strip.
