Our best experience in Jordan was Wadi Rum with Hamza as our guide. The safari tour in Wadi Rum was amazing — seeing the hanging rock bridge, walking through the desert at night, and lighting a fire under the stars. ✨🔥
The place was very clean, and the staff were really friendly. They helped us with everything, and we didn’t face any problems at all. The tour guide who went out with us, Hamzah, was very nice and spoke English fluently. The best part of the trip was the car tour in Wadi Rum Reserve — it was a really amazing and beautiful experience.

Seasonal guide to help you plan the perfect trip to in Wadi Rum
Fall
October–April (peak: December–February for Northern-hemisphere winter escapes and March–April for favorable diving).
June–August (hottest months; lower room rates and deals; also September for shoulder discounts).
March–May: warming temperatures, low-to-moderate humidity, sea water is comfortable for snorkeling and diving by late spring. Wildflowers appear inland and sea visibility typically improves as the winter rains end.
An annual festival celebrating local Bedouin and Jordanian arts, music, dance, and crafts. Dates vary but typically fall in spring or autumn depending on the municipal calendar.
Seasonal wind and water-sport events occur mainly in winter and spring when wind conditions are favorable. International and regional athletes may attend.
Specialized dive weeks, underwater photography events, and conservation activities run throughout high diving season (autumn through spring). Operators offer package deals, night dives, and specialty courses.
National and religious holidays influence travel patterns and local business hours. Hotels and transport can be busier, and prices may spike during these periods.
Aqaba is sunny most of the year. Expect very hot conditions in summer with strong sun—use high-SPF sunscreen, a hat, and stay hydrated. Sea temperatures are warm year-round compared with the Mediterranean; surface temps range roughly from the low 20s°C (winter) to high 20s–low 30s°C (summer). Winds can pick up in late winter/early spring—check wind forecasts before booking kitesurfing/windsurfing sessions.
Aqaba (العقبة) is Jordan’s only coastal city on the Red Sea and a small, tourism-driven market. Hotel prices rise during the primary tourist windows (October–April) when weather is mild and diving/snorkeling are best. High-end resorts and dive operators peak around school holidays and Western/European winter escapes. Summer (June–August) sees lower base rates but special-event spikes (local festivals, long weekends, religious holidays). International flight availability to King Hussein International (AQJ) and nearby Eilat (via land crossing) also affects pricing; flights tend to be more expensive around major holidays. Special events (local festivals, sports events) and convergence with Jordan’s broader tourist calendar (e.g., Petra touring season) can push rates. Book 2–3 months in advance for high season; for peak holiday weeks (Christmas/New Year, Eid periods) book earlier.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Aqaba is accessible by air (King Hussein International Airport, AQJ), by land (roads from Amman, direct buses, private transfers), and by land crossing from Eilat, Israel. Within the city, taxis and shared taxis are common; renting a car is useful for day trips.
Combine Aqaba with a short trip to Wadi Rum and Petra for a rich southern Jordan itinerary; bring a 3mm wetsuit for winter dives, carry a waterproof bag for day trips, and book popular dive operators and desert camps well in advance during high season.
