When I stayed here I had already picked up a nasty virus in Egypt. At 2:30 I was so sick I needed to go to a hospital emergency room. When I went downstairs and asked the night manager Khaled to order me a taxi he informed me there wouldn’t be any at that time. What happened next was incredible - he organised 2 of his friends to come and take me to the hospital in his car. Not only that, his wonderful friends came inside, helped me get admitted and stayed with me the entire time )often chasing up doctors and test results) until I was discharged a few hours later and then drove me back to the hotel. My stay at My Hotel is now my most memorable hotel stay ever. Jordan as a country is so safe and hospitable, however My Hotel staff - esp Khaled went so far above and beyond I am so grateful and still a little shocked! Thank you thank you team and Khaled.

Seasonal guide to help you plan the perfect trip to in Aqaba
Winter
Winter and Spring (December–April)
Summer (June–August)
March–May: temperatures warm up (mid 20s–30°C daytime), sea temperatures comfortable for swimming and diving, and plant life in nearby desert areas is greener after winter rains.
A local festival celebrating the Gulf of Aqaba with beach activities, boat parades, live music and family events. Dates vary; often scheduled around late spring or summer.
Seasonal markets showcasing local crafts, textiles and Jordanian food—often timed to coincide with tourist peaks in winter and spring.
Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Independence Day influence local activity levels—outings, family trips and occasional short-term price increases in accommodation.
Aqaba has a desert climate with very hot summers and mild winters. Bring sun protection year-round (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses). In summer, plan strenuous activities early morning or late afternoon. In winter and early spring bring a light jacket for evenings. Check short-term sea conditions before booking dive boats; winter can bring occasional choppy seas.
Aqaba's hotel and travel prices are strongly seasonal. Winter and spring (roughly October–April) are the busiest months for international tourists seeking warm weather and diving, so expect higher room rates, peak-season surcharges at dive operators, and fuller flights. Summer (June–August) is the value season: many international visitors avoid the extreme heat, so hotels, package deals, and some tours drop prices significantly. Shoulder months (September and May) often offer a balance—reduced rates compared with winter but still excellent weather. Major Jordanian holidays (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, and national holidays) can cause short local spikes in demand and prices. Book dive trips and popular hotels in high season well in advance; look for last-minute deals in summer and early fall.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Aqaba is compact and easy to navigate. Transport options include taxis, car rental, limited local buses, and occasional shared shuttles to Petra and Wadi Rum.
If your focus is diving, plan multiple short dives on different days rather than back-to-back full-day diving in intense heat; book with a reputable operator that monitors reef health and provides well-maintained gear. Consider combining a coastal stay in Aqaba with a desert night in Wadi Rum for a balanced itinerary.
