We loved this hotel so much. Staff was so nice, especially Miguel!! The hotel is so modern, the location is perfect and central to everything. We know Manhattan pretty well but didn't realize until staying at this hotel how easy it is to catch a subway to all parts of town from here including the west side, lower east side, soho, Brooklyn and queens and the airports. Whole Foods is a few minutes away for a quick snack. You have access to the private club Branch that is absolutely fabulous. Great breakfast inside or on the patio with views of Manhattan. The patio is heated so you can grab tea or a glass of wine in the evenings. This may be our go to hotel every time we come back to our former home

Pack layers year-round. Spring and fall are best for layering (light jacket, sweater, breathable base). Summers can be hot and humid — bring lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle; use air-conditioned interiors to cool down. Winters are cold and windy with potential snow; bring a warm coat, waterproof boots, hat, gloves, and consider thermal layers. Check weather the day before travel for flash storms in summer or winter storms and advisories in winter. Comfortable walking shoes are essential year-round.
New York City hotel prices fluctuate with tourism seasons, major events, and weekdays vs. weekends. Peak demand occurs in late spring and fall (especially September–November) and around major holidays (late December). Business travel raises midweek rates in Manhattan. Major events — the UN General Assembly (September), Fashion Week (Feb and Sept), the NYC Marathon (November), Pride (June), and large conventions — drive spikes in specific neighborhoods. Budget travelers should consider staying in boroughs outside Manhattan (Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey City/Hoboken) or using neighborhood hotels and short-term rentals, and book 6–12 weeks in advance for typical travel and several months ahead for high-demand events. Use flexible-dates searches, hotel-price alerts, and consider weekday vs. weekend trade-offs (weekends can be cheaper in business-heavy hotels).
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Public transit (subway and buses), walking, taxis/rideshares, and ferries are the most efficient ways to get around. Consider proximity to subway lines when choosing accommodation.
Plan neighborhood-based itineraries (e.g., two to three neighborhoods per day) to minimize back-and-forth transit. Book must-see attractions (Statue of Liberty pedestal tickets, Broadway shows, guided museum exhibitions) in advance and aim for early morning entry to avoid crowds. Use neighborhood exploration (Greenwich Village, Williamsburg, DUMBO, Astoria) to get a more local feel and better-value dining/hotel options.
