A Wonderful hidden jewel. Normally we stay at the Four Seasons , Ritz or any of the highly rated hotels. The Franklin was an exceptional find for us.
The speakeasy bar in the hotel was excellent. Paige and the staff were accommodating and very helpful It was in close proximity to the Barclay prime restaurant in Rittenhouse. That is an excellent steakhouse. I would recommend it to anybody staying there. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable

Fall
Summer (June–August) and select event weekends (Flower Show week, major concerts, big sports events).
Late January–early March (excluding Flower Show week) and late November–mid December.
March–May. Mild temperatures, blooms in parks and along the Schuylkill River, busy cultural calendar (Penn Relays in April, Phillies season in full swing).
The nation’s largest and one of the world’s longest-running indoor flower shows, usually held in late February.
Multi-day Independence Day celebration with concerts, family events, and fireworks along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Penn’s Landing.
A major music festival (usually early September) that draws big crowds and national headliners — timing can vary.
A popular marathon and race weekend in November that attracts runners from across the country and includes relay and half-marathon options.
A colorful, traditional New Year’s Day parade featuring elaborate costumes, music, and community clubs — a uniquely local spectacle.
Seasonal markets and ice/rink events in December (e.g., Christmas Village at LOVE Park, RiverRink Winterfest at Penn’s Landing).
Layer clothing year-round. Spring: pack a waterproof layer and light jacket. Summer: sun protection, light breathable clothes, and water; seek air-conditioned spots during heat waves. Fall: layers and a medium jacket for evenings. Winter: warm coat, hat, gloves, and waterproof boots if snow is possible. Check weather forecasts before traveling and allow extra travel time for snow or heavy rain.
Philadelphia hotel and short-term rental prices rise and fall with seasonal tourism, major events, and conventions. Peak rates are typically in late spring through summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and during major festivals (Wawa Welcome America/July 4th, Made in America weekend) and large convention weekends. Large annual events that draw visitors — the Philadelphia Flower Show (late winter), Phillies home playoff pushes (autumn), and the Philadelphia Marathon (November) — cause targeted spikes. University events (graduations, Penn/Temple convocations) and weekend sporting events can push prices for specific neighborhoods. The most budget-friendly windows are mid-January through early March (excluding the Flower Show week) and late fall (late November through mid-December), when occupancy drops and hotels offer deals. Book 30–90 days ahead for regular travel, and 3–6 months ahead for major events, holidays, or weekend stays.
Consejos de expertos para ayudarte a aprovechar al máximo tu visita
Philadelphia is compact and walkable in Center City; public transit (SEPTA) covers the city and suburbs, with bike-share and ride-hailing widely available.
Plan museum and popular-site visits early in the morning to avoid crowds (Philadelphia Museum of Art, Independence National Historical Park). Combine walking tours with SEPTA key trips for neighborhoods farther out. If visiting for major events, book hotels and transit early and expect road closures — give extra time between destinations.
