Breakfast was amazing. So many really good options and all high quality. And we could bring our little dog with us. I liked the “quiet hours” and folks seemed to honor it. They are very dog friendly which was critical for our stay.
Friendly staff, great location, parking fee is very reasonable. Breakfast and complimentary happy hr drinks (2 per adult) included.

Dress in layers (light jacket, sweater, T-shirt), bring a waterproof layer for winter, and sturdy shoes for muddy trails after rain.
San Rafael's accommodation and dining prices follow typical Marin/SF-bay-area patterns: peak prices in late spring and summer (visitor season) and on weekends or during big local events. Proximity to San Francisco and easy ferry/bus connections push rates higher than many inland towns.
