Good hotel good value for money
I was very well treated and all my questions were answered. The receptionist Shereen was very helpful with questions regarding the city and the hotel. The manager Danial was also very kind recommending me places to go eat and with other things. Nedal was also great. I made good friends in my stay. If I ever return to Amman, which I hope I do, I would surely book a room at Sandy Palace Hotel again. Thanks to everyone!

Seasonal guide to help you plan the perfect trip to in Amman
Fall
Spring and Fall
Summer and parts of Winter
March–May: Temperatures are mild (15–25°C / 59–77°F) with blooming landscapes; ideal for walking the city and day trips to Jerash, the Dead Sea, and Petra.
Usually across the summer months (often July): A major cultural festival held in the ancient city of Jerash, featuring music, dance, theatre, and international performers.
Typically held in autumn (often October): A mass-participation running event that attracts local and international athletes across a variety of race distances.
May 25: National holiday with official ceremonies, flag displays, and sometimes public events in Amman.
Moves each year through the Gregorian calendar: The holy month of fasting affects opening hours, dining, and nightlife. The atmosphere is quieter during daylight, then lively after sunset with special iftar meals and night markets.
Various festivals and theatre events occur in spring and autumn: spotlighting regional performing arts, experimental theatre, and cultural exchange.
Pack layers—Amman has significant day/night temperature swings, especially in Spring and Fall. For summer, bring sun protection, light clothing, and a reusable water bottle; for winter, include a warm jacket and waterproof layer. Comfortable walking shoes are essential due to many cobbled streets and archaeological sites. Check forecasts before desert excursions and avoid low-lying wadis when heavy rain is forecast.
Amman’s hotel prices fluctuate with seasonality, major local events, and religious holidays. High demand in Spring and Fall (pleasant weather) pushes rates up, especially around international conferences, Ramadan (depending on year), and national holidays. Summer (June–August) tends to be the most value-oriented for international tourists because daytime heat suppresses leisure travel and some hotels offer discounts; however, prices can spike during summer cultural festivals (e.g., Jerash Festival). Winter sees mixed pricing—rainy days and occasional snow in higher-elevation areas can reduce tourist numbers and lower midweek rates, but weekends and holidays still carry a premium.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Getting around Amman is done by taxis (shared and private), ride-hail apps, local minibuses for short distances, and intercity buses for longer trips. Many central areas are walkable but hilly.
Get a Jordan Pass if you plan to visit multiple archaeological sites (it waives the visa fee for many nationalities and includes entry to Petra and several other sites). Carry some Jordanian dinars in cash for markets and smaller vendors, but most places accept cards. Download offline maps and get a local SIM or eSIM for navigation and ride apps. Choose a central neighborhood—Jabal Amman, Rainbow Street, or Abdali—for easy access to cafés, attractions, and transportation.
