The building was huge and beautiful The room was spacious and the interior was very nice and modern I love the wallpaper in the restroom and the mirrors and comfortable bed. Everything was perfect for my stay
We are locals that got displaced due to our neighbor's house catching fire (we live in a row home and took on smoke and water damage). We stayed here for a couple of nights until our insurance company found somewhere for us to rent while we repair our home. The Kimpton staff were so lovely and empathetic to our situation. They even had a goody basket waiting for us on check-in as they knew our situation. We even asked if we could check-in early because we have pets and had nowhere to go for the time being and they told us to come on over. Our room was clean and spacious with a mini fridge. The bathroom had a nice big countertop to really sprawl out on. The area is also really nice. This part of the city is super safe and full of history for any tourists reading this. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone traveling to Philly or needs a place to stay because of a disaster. Please enjoy the attached picture of my kitty enjoying her dinner with a view of Independence Hall 💕

Layering is essential year-round. Spring and fall are best enjoyed with versatile layers and a light rain jacket. Summers are hot and humid—carry water, sunscreen, and plan indoor breaks. Winters can bring snow and freezing temperatures—pack a warm coat, hat, gloves, and waterproof boots. Check forecasts for nor'easters in winter and for severe summer thunderstorms; public transit is usually reliable but storms can cause delays.
Philadelphia hotel prices fluctuate with the academic calendar, major events, and summer tourism. Peak pricing typically occurs in late spring and summer (college graduations, Independence Day, warm-weather tourism) and around major events such as the Philadelphia Flower Show (March), Made in America festival (September), and the Philadelphia Marathon/Thanksgiving weekend (November). Weekends in Center City and neighborhoods near tourist sites (Old City, Rittenhouse Square, University City) are pricier. Value seasons are late winter (excluding holiday/MLK/Mummers weekend) and mid-fall (late October–early November) when temperatures are pleasant but crowds thin. Booking 30–60 days in advance helps secure better rates; for big events, reserve months ahead. Consider staying in nearby neighborhoods (Fishtown, Northern Liberties, University City) or across the river in South Jersey for lower nightly rates while using SEPTA or PATCO to commute into Center City.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Philadelphia is walkable in Center City and Old City; SEPTA public transit (buses, trolleys, Broad Street and Market–Frankford Lines, Regional Rail) plus PATCO and Amtrak connect the city regionally.
Purchase attraction bundles (CityPASS/Go City) if you plan multiple paid attractions, use SEPTA Key or pay with contactless bank cards for faster transit access, and schedule major museum visits on weekday mornings to avoid lines. For festival weekends, book hotels at least 2–3 months in advance and consider staying in nearby neighborhoods (Fishtown, Northern Liberties, University City) for better value and a local vibe.
