Analyze the best time to book Petra Boutique Hotel in in Wadi Musa based on 12-month price forecast
Glad we chose this hotel for our stay in Wadi Musa! The staff were very attentive, and our family room was spacious with one queen bed, two twins, and two bathrooms. The room was spotlessly clean and beds were very comfortable. As the only guests in late January, they kindly let us stay until noon on checkout. Breakfast and dinner on the rooftop were delicious, with amazing sunset views over Petra. The location is perfect—just a 3‑minute walk to the Petra entrance, and free parking is available right in front of the hotel.
The facility is clean and convenient. Receptionist Mohamed-san is quite kind and responsible.

Fall
Spring and Fall
Summer and Winter
March–May. Mild days (15–25°C / 59–77°F), cool nights, and blooming wildflowers. Ideal for long hikes to the Monastery, High Place of Sacrifice and exploring the Siq without extreme heat.
A popular event where the Treasury is lit by thousands of candles and accompanied by traditional music and storytelling.
Annual running events (usually in Spring) that attract international runners and bring added activity to Wadi Musa and surrounding deserts.
Religious observances across Jordan with dates varying each year (based on the lunar calendar); fasting and altered opening hours affect restaurants, shops and tour timing.
Public holidays (for example, Independence Day on May 25) and other cultural festivals can increase domestic travel and demand for accommodations.
Pack layers for large diurnal swings. In Summer, start visits before sunrise and avoid strenuous mid-day hikes; carry at least 2–3 liters of water per person for the day. In Winter and rainy periods, have waterproof outer layers and shoes with good traction; be cautious of possible flash floods in the Siq after heavy rains. Always wear a sun hat, strong sunscreen and sunglasses when visiting.
Petra’s hotel and tour prices fluctuate with international tourist seasons, local holidays, and special events. Peak demand (and higher rates) occurs during Spring and Fall when weather is mild and hiking is ideal. Summer brings the lowest base rates but surcharges can appear around Jordanian national holidays or if international groups book. Winter can offer good deals except around Christmas/New Year and school holidays. Small local operators and Bedouin-run services often have flexible pricing; large hotels and licensed guides have steadier rates. Booking well in advance for Spring/Fall is recommended, while last-minute deals are more common in Summer and Winter.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Most international visitors arrive via Amman (Queen Alia) or Aqaba and transfer to Wadi Musa (Petra). Onward travel by private transfer, shared/minibus services, or rental car is common.
Buy the Jordan Pass before arrival if you plan to stay a minimum number of nights—this can include your visa fee and entry to Petra (3-day pass) and many other sites, saving money and queue time. Also, arrive at Petra early (before 7:00–8:00) or late afternoon to avoid peak crowds; for the Monastery and high viewpoints, factor in extra time and sturdy footwear.
