Is a beautiful hotel 100%
The Sea View, The Space in the Room, was great, It would have been nice, if the microwave; was a part of the fee and already in the room, one thing I would like to add was that the staff was very accommodating as far as timely Manor, in bringing or coming to see about anything that needed to be adjusted in the room. The food was absolutely delicious but it was a little pricey and if you happen to be a family of four that could have been quite expensive and where would that leave for other activities around such a great City and hotel transportation around Chicago. I felt very safe in and around the Hotel. Fireworks were over the Top, something for everyone to Enjoy.

Summer
Summer (June–August) due to festivals, lakefront activities, and warm weather.
Winter (December–February) excluding holiday weeks and major conventions; look for deals after New Year’s.
March–May: Temperatures shift from chilly/windy in March to mild and pleasant by late May. Blooming parks and fewer tourists early in the season.
Late summer highlight along the lakefront with free aerial and water performances.
Major summer food festival in Grant Park celebrating Chicago’s restaurant scene.
Large multi-day music festival held in Grant Park that draws international crowds.
Major fall marathon attracting international runners and spectators.
Traditional German-style holiday market in the Loop (and additional neighborhood markets).
One of North America’s largest auto shows, held indoors and popular with locals and visitors.
The Chicago River is dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day, with related parades and neighborhood celebrations.
Large Pride events centered in Boystown and Lakeview with parades and block parties.
Chicago’s weather can swing quickly. Pack layers year-round: a light jacket and scarf for spring/fall, breathable layers for hot summers, and a heavy insulated coat, hat, gloves, and waterproof boots for winter. A windproof outer layer is essential because lake-effect winds increase the chill. Check weather forecasts before outdoor activities and allow extra travel time during snow or severe storms.
Chicago hotel and short-term rental prices vary with season and events. Summer (June–August) is the primary high season: demand from tourists, festivals, and conferences pushes rates up, especially near downtown, Navy Pier, and the lakefront. Major events (Lollapalooza, Taste of Chicago, Air & Water Show) and large conventions further spike weekend rates. Fall (September–October) sees a secondary peak around events like the Chicago Marathon and pleasant weather—rates are moderate to high. Spring (March–May) is a shoulder season: early spring can be chilly and cheaper, while late spring warms up and prices rise. Winter (December–February) is the overall value season: cold weather lowers leisure demand and many hotels offer deals, though holidays (late Nov–Dec) and large conventions (e.g., Auto Show in Feb) can raise prices locally. Weekends and special-event dates are consistently more expensive; booking 60–90 days in advance for summer or big-event weekends is recommended.
Insider advice to help you make the most of your visit
Robust public transit (CTA trains and buses), two major airports (O'Hare and Midway), rideshares, and bike-share options make getting around straightforward; driving and downtown parking are costly.
Buy a CityPASS if you plan to visit multiple major attractions (Shedd Aquarium, Skydeck, Field Museum, 360 CHICAGO) to save on admission and skip lines; for skyline photos, take an early morning boat tour or head to North Avenue Beach for sunrise views with fewer crowds.
